Migration of data and systems

Whether it is due to a business acquisition, launch of a new system or moving the hosting infrastructure

Most database engines, such as MySQL or Microsoft SQL Server have the ability to add a new node into a cluster, allowing data to seamlessly migrate, there are complications to this.

Unless there is a business requirement for 100% uptime, it should always be recommended to efficiently use a downtime window to initiate a planned data migration.
